The Lagna Lord (planet ruling the Ascendent) is the most important planet. In this class, you will learn how to evaluate that planet for strengths, weaknesses, benefits and challenges. A strong and positive Lagna Lord can shift even very difficult karmas in the chart.

The Moon shows us how we receive support in life. It reveals our capacity for growth. The Moon tells us how light is reflected and assimilated in our life. A well-placed Moon supports us even in the most difficult of circumstances. You will learn how to evaluate the Moon, through its placement in the Rashi (natal chart), the house it rules, and through the Chandra Yogas.

Each rising sign has a unique signature. We can learn a lot about a person, just from knowing what sign was on the horizon when they were born. The rising sign determines the planetary friends and foes, and how friendly the friends are and how foe-like the foes are. We will go through each rising sign and evaluate how the planets fare for each. (We will also explore the current transits of Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu for each rising sign.)

Not only is the sky divided into 12 sections (signs), but also 27 constellations (nakshatras). Each nakshatra has a ruling planet, a symbol, a sound, an animal, and a shakti. You can evaluate your entire chart with only using the Nakshatras and leaving the signs of the Zodiac out of it. In this class, we will explore how to do that and the possibilities it opens up for consciously understanding our deeper purpose.

The Dashas are one of the most powerful and magical tools in Vedic Astrology. Knowing the Dasha you are in can offer boundless insight into your frame of mind, events, and activated karmas. So much fun to explore this tool.

Transits are well known in Western Astrology. In Vedic astrology, the Dasha is more important and the Gochara enlightens and activates the Dasha Lord. Gocharas also follow the rules of aspects, that are very different in Vedic astrology from Western. We will review aspects and look at how Gocharas manifest in life.

So many yogas to cover. We will go through as many as we can get to, to uncover the magic superpowers in the chart, and the hidden karmas that are revealed in the yogas.

The Rashi chart (1 st harmonic chart) is quite a grand tool, but consider that it is only the first layer. We will cover as many vargas in order of significance as we can. Each varga reveals another layer of significance. When we get to the 60 th harmonic, where even a minute of birth time makes a difference, we understand how twins can be so vastly different.

Ashtakavarga has to do with the vargas. It is a tool of numbers that evaluates how much light each planet sheds on each house. Starting as a binary tool of zeros and ones, it becomes a complex masterpiece of insight that shows us the strength of each house.
We will chant mantras, meditate, learn about Vastu (Vedic version of Feng Shui), Yantras, and the
healing power of stones. In this time together, we will deepen our practices, practice the healing
tools that can change our karmas, play with stones, and chant together. This is the only in-person
event and will be a wonderful time to gather with fellow students of the Jyotisha.
